Partnering and networking with many local organizations and businesses builds a great team and leads to success.
Volunteering frequently in our community in a variety of settings builds job skills, confidence and helps our clients experience the positive outcomes of having a job. For some this is a necessary stepping stone to employment.

Employment/Volunteerism:

Frequent practice, individualized instruction, and positive experiences leads to confident and successful integration.
From the THH perspective, integration means everyone is not just allowed to be there, but rather they feel truly welcome to be there. Community connection fosters a sense of confidence, belonging, and community, to help bridge the gap to community living.
Building strong connections with community members is achieved through our community experiences. These are not field trips but are designed to create a sense of community and belonging with the expectation that these connections will be natural supports in our clients’ futures.

Integrated Community Participation:

Practicing life skills frequently is essential for mastery or optimizing potential.
Planning and preparing for a new living setting is necessary and a goal option.
We reinforce that an individual's future living setting is unique and should be in the least restrictive environment, with appropriate support and choice.
Future living option considerations will be discussed with the TEAM so all efforts align with the desires of the individual and any potential wishes or plans of the parents/guardians.

Independent/Supported Living Services

Annual Future Planning meetings are held with participants and their support team to tailor our services to self-determined goals for greater independence in living, work, and community participation. A well planned future is the ideal end-product of our services. Goals will be set to address skill development and planning according to our

We are committed to serving as many young adults as possible through our specialized support services and to embracing the diversity of all our learners. However, we recognize that The Haase House has some limitations due to our home-based setting, special permit requirements, and the need to align with each individual’s long-term support funding. It is essential to us that every participant receives instruction aligned with their IRIS service plans and our Future Planning goals. When we say we provide individualized services, we are dedicated to making this happen.

FUTURE PLANNING MEETINGS

THREE PILLARS of PROGRAMMING:

the best way to predict the future is to create it

OUR SERVICES

LIST OF SERVICES

DAILY LIVING SKILLS (DLS)
Daily Living Skills is a one-on-one or small-group service designed to help participants develop essential life skills. Instruction can include personal hygiene, functional reading, physical and motor development, money management, time management, and household maintenance (both indoor and outdoor) and more. DLS hours are billed for 1:1 or 1:2 support, with a focus on achieving the specific goals set by each participant.

HOURLY INSTRUCTIONAL DAY SERVICES
Hourly Day Services are offered in a home-like setting for up to 40 hours per week, based on the goals of each participant and their Future Planning Team. At The Haase House, this service emphasizes skill development and learning through peer engagement and group interaction, rather than one-on-one instruction. Peers play a vital role in encouraging participation and fostering social connections.

RESPITE
Respite services are available for special events outside of regular programming. These events are open to THH participants, provided they have sufficient respite funds. For those with limited funding or individuals not enrolled in THH services, special event participation is offered via private pay at a reduced rate. Respite hours may also be used in cases where a participant needs early drop-off or late pick-up.

SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT
Supported Employment services at THH assist participants in securing and sustaining employment, including self-employment, at or above minimum wage. These services cover vocational discovery and assessments, person-centered employment planning, job placement assistance, negotiations with prospective employers, on-the-job coaching, and providing tools and training to enhance the participant’s success in their role.

HOME VISITS (DLS)
Home Visits are an option when it is the most suitable and in the least restrictive environment for the participant. These visits fall under Daily Living Skills (DLS) services and can be a step toward greater independence, such as preparing for a move. There are circumstances in which the participants home is the best setting for their learning.

testimonials

"The Haase House has been an incredible place for Travis over the past seven years. He’s always excited to work on life skills because of the fun, engaging activities and the friends he gets to see. One of his favorite things is helping out with office work, which gives him a great sense of purpose. The staff has done an amazing job teaching Travis how to read—he’s made more progress here than he did in school, and his communication skills have really improved too.

I’m especially grateful for the exercises and stretches they incorporate into the day, which have been so beneficial for Travis so he can engage independently in these exercises and promote life-long healthy habits. Whether it's volunteering, arts and crafts, or cooking, there’s always something new for him to explore. The staff is incredibly patient and organized, ensuring that their clients stay busy and continue learning throughout the day in preparation for his future living, work and community settings. The Haase House has truly been a blessing for Travis and our family." - Stephanie N.

"Sarah officially became a part of The Haase House this summer, following her involvement in various community outings and events. She has found her time at The Haase House to be very enjoyable, with her favorite moments revolving around the daily interactions with fellow clients and our dedicated staff. Socializing and learning alongside her peers is what Sarah values the most during her time at THH.

One particularly memorable experience occurred during an outing to a local bank, where she had the opportunity to explore the inside of a vault and gain insights into the functionality of safety deposit boxes. Additionally, Sarah holds dear the memories from a fun-filled day spent at the arcade of Point Burger Bar, where she played games and shared laughter with her pals from THH."

Rediscovering her passion for reading, Sarah has formed a healthy habit thanks to the daily designated reading time at The Haase House. Her excitement led her to renew her library card and actively explore physical and digital books once again."

"Mary started working with My daughter a little over a year ago. She has helped engage in functional activities to improve her muscle strength and continues to work on posture. Mary has been such a positive influence on Maria and our family. She goes out of her way to look for equipment that will help in her daily care needs. She found a stander and transported it to our home and we still have it with us. She had her brother make special silverware that would make it easier for our daughter to eat and reduce the spills. Her experience and professional skills as an Occupational Therapist has been invaluable although her services are not medical through THH. She keeps her focus on daily living skills and non-therapeutic approaches. Thank you Mary for your service to individuals with disabilities."
