Our Mission

OUr vision

The Haase House helps young adults with disabilities along with their parents/guardians to work towards brighter, more independent futures by providing personalized, goal-driven life skill instruction weaved into tailored schedules in our natural, safe home and community-based settings to build confidence and skill sets needed to transition to community, sustaining THH support only as needed.

Our vision is for each young adult to pursue their own chosen, community-integrated lifestyle by becoming more self-sufficient, independent and purposeful in their future in the community. Through personalized support from dedicated and skilled staff, we build off of our clients' level of self-determination to tap into hidden potentials. The intent of our services is to be a “Stepping Stone”. We are not a “place” but a milestone on their journey to a life they choose. At The Haase House, we serve others through our motto: Helping Adults Achieve, Succeed and Engage.

We target skills related to our 3 Pillars of Service:
  • Supported/Independent Living
  • Volunteerism or Supported/Independent Employment
  • Integrated Community Participation.

Addressing these 3 pillars of service targets the “whole” person and all within one system or service provider. THH is open to acquiring services outside of THH when it is in the best interest of the clients needs. Clients have that choice. This alleviates the fears of families, caregivers, and young adults, making it possible to build strong support systems and plan for a meaningful future and the lifestyle of their choice within the community.

FOR THE PEOPLE WE SERVE

FOR A COMMUNITY BASED FUTURE

LEARN MORe >

The Haase House was founded because Mary Haase believed that everyone should have the right to choose life-long learning and be the core of life decisions that impact the future they desire. Young adults with disabilities transitioning from high school are no different. At THH the individual is the center of this process and all stakeholders (i.e. clients, parents, friends, guardians, relatives, siblings, caregivers, coaches, etc..) can be part of the TEAM that works together to support the client and provide frequent communication and input to take steps to implement their “Future Plan”.

To truly make this about the adult, The Haase House provides instruction at a 1:3 staff to client ratio. To achieve and progress in their Future Planning goals this requires full engagement during our services, participating in a busy schedule, and many community-integrated opportunities. This model makes it possible to do life and have a strong handle on their abilities to make a successful transition to community living, employment and participation.

The Haase House is the Stepping Stone for those who have an interest in a more independent and self determined life. When our adults spread their wings into a new living setting, it can be with or without support from The Haase House.
